Oath-taking of San Juan City PDP-Laban officers, members held
Officers and members of the ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) in San Juan City took their oath before party president Sen. Koko Pimentel on Thursday.
PDP-Laban San Juan is headed by Cong. Ronny Zamora, and its secretary general is his son and former Vice Mayor Francis Zamora.
Hundreds of people, wearing red shirts, attended the oath-taking at the covered court of Barangay Tibagan in San Juan.
During the younger Zamora’s speech, he vowed to make San Juan a “Smart City” by putting free wi-fi in all barangays in the city.
He also bared that should he be elected as mayor, he will build a high-rise public housing building for the people of San Juan.
“Should I get elected as mayor, I will build a high rise public housing building. As such, I promise to make this city a ‘Smart City’ by giving all barangays here of free Wi-Fi. An emergency mobile application will be made available in order to hasten the emergency reesponse here in case or any untoward incident,” he said.
The Zamoras expressed gratitude to the political party of President Duterte for giving them its full support.
“I am thankful to Sen. Pimentel for selecting my father, and I as PDP-Laban’s official candidates in San Juan,” the former vice mayor said.
The younger Zamora is up against incumbent Vice Mayor Janella Estrada, daughter of former senator Jinggoy Estrada who was dropped from the administration’s line up of senatorial bets.
In response, Pimentel said the Zamoras have a clean track record, saying they were very qualified to be part of Duterte’s political party.
“Pres. Duterte wants honest candidates,” the senator said in his speech.
Communications Sec. Martin Andanar was also present as he represented senatorial hopeful Bong Go, the former special assistant to the president.
This, despite the verbal directive of Duterte to his cabinet not to engage in any political campaign or event.
